Today i noticed that the steams of my sunflowers had 3 kinds of colors. There's Brown, brownish red, and green. they also have a lot of pokey things sticking out. It doesn't hurt but you can feel them.
I haven't really searched why they have them. But I'm guessing it is to keep bugs away from eating them.
